New Info, RFF Book Project

Many thanks to rover for taking the reins of the organization and gittin those horses movin agin :) and a very special thanks to Gene for doing a bit of extra Photoshopping for me when I submitted my pictures last year.

Then over the weekend he emailed me about some technical info that was missing (or wrong somehow) in my text and needed corrections. Not only has Gene done the layout but has obviously been proofing as well.

So thank you both for not just all the work, but all the quality work that you have put into this.

Time to crack the whip again.

To all book participants, I just sent an email with a link to the PDF document which is our book. Please download it and read through it ASAP. Please advise of any errors or omissions which need to be addressed. PLEASE DO THIS IN THE NEXT 48 HOURS OR SO!!!

Our goal at this time is to turn the book over to Lulu for printing this Wednesday, March 2. I want Gene to feel comfortable knowing any changes that need to be made when he is finishing up his work Wednesday to make his day go as easily, and quickly as it can. If for some reason you don't get my email, notify me at rff.forum@gmail.com.

We are really almost there guys!!!

rover will do this today - I downloaded the book and first thing I notice - page 2 has Jorge's name spelled wrong! Better fix that or we'll be thrown off the forum!! ;)

My name was spelled wrong too. :D

I am sure Gene was quite glassy eyed when he was banging away at this Sunday.

Good catch, Peter. This is exactly the reason I'd like everyone to check it out. Please email your catches to rff.forum@gmail.com so that all noted errors or omissions are located in one place.

Thanks,

Gene

Cool Beans!

Cool Beans!

I am very happy for all you folks who are involved in this project!
One of the several things that impressed me about this place when I first started hanging out was that you folks were actually doing something!
As much as I am a gear head, I like that !
Now for the obvious question: Where can those of us not in the book buy a copy?
Congratulate yourselves all! you deserve it :)
Rob

Frank, Rover, Peter_n,
Thanks for the info! Actually if I wasn't such a dumba## I would have read the RFF news and seen this my self  ANYWAY I'm ordering a copy(not a dozen--sorry, Frank) today before I head to work.

i had a problem making my purchase on lulu. did anyone else have trouble? i use 'safari' as my web browser rather than 'explorer'...maybe that's the problem. any advice?

it's such a cool book and project. everyone on this whole board can be proud. and if rich out there somewhere...we need to thank him too.

did i say special thanks to gene, ralph, jorge and all participants. (better stop, this sounds like the oscars) more fun though.

I saw the message about browsers when I ordered the book last night. I had no problem using IE, so perhaps that is necessary.

I also did send a message to Rich last night Linda. You are right, without his brilliant idea and the force with which he drove this in the early stages this project would have never come together.

My copy of the book arrived today! It looks Mah-velous Dah'ling. Now to sell signed copies to all my relatives and friends - LOL.
I ordered my RFF T-Shirt today too. Walking billboard, me.

I picked up a copy last week after checking out the previews. Excellent work to all who were involved. It's given me inspiration to think of a similar project for us RFFers here in Singapore.

I know it's only been a short while since the launch but any idea how the sales are coming along and is the book being marketed through the right channels?

Thank you Terance for your comments about the book. Have you met Peter yet? He is in Singapore and recently posted a thread about meeting other RFF members there.

As a self published book it really isn't marketed other than by us and word of mouth. Lulu is an on demand printer, they simply print the book and make it available for sale on their site. We have sold 138 copies to date which list us as the 34th highest seller of their books. Not bad in my opinion.
