New Kodak Color Film: Ektar 100

I dutifully buy my Kodachrome, and have shot plenty of E100 SW, VS & GX over the years. They were my mainstays when shooting stock. This new Ektar is something I'll absolutely be trying- hope the colors are as snappy as their chart makes them out to be, but with better reds than the sad ones I found in 100UC.

It's this sentence that caught my eye: "And that’s important as E-6 processing becomes less readily available"

Even though it's in the passive voice, I am a bit paranoid and think they're hinting that they're gauging how long to keep up the E6 product line.

Again, Barrett and I both hope our only expertise with tea is brewing. 😉

Actually, that photo of the ropes and buoys (or whatever they are) on the right in that US release statement looks quite a bit like Kodachrome. I suspect that's why they chose to use that one.

Well, my hope is that I can finally loosen my grip on my last rolls of Konica Impresa 50. I've got my few rolls of Reala to play with (Hadn't touched that stuff for a while), but the promise of a super-fine-grain film with the same scanning characteristics of Portra (which, for me at least, is the most scanner-friendly film) will be quite yummy indeed.
