New look for RFF

Current 'classic' look is legible, the proposed look isn't. White letters on grey/black stand out better than blue on blue/white.. The white screen with blue bars is atrocious.. Well, you did ask..

In the current format, the "signal" is the light lettering and the background "noise" is dark. With black/blue letters on a light background, it is reversed and your brain has to process harder to filter out the bright background "noise". IMO

I agree, the "new look" looks like every other forum to me. Too bright to look at and difficult to read. let's keep it just as is.

I don't like it. I think the current RFF look with the dark dominance is perfect.

To be brutally honest I hate the new proposed layout.

Reasons:
1. Black / blue text on white is (IMO) difficult to read and causes eye strain after a while.
2. Our current layout is somewhat unique, the proposed is not.
3. (IMO) B+W images look better against a gray backgound.

My sentiments exactly.

Ian

Hi Jorge, sorry but I don't like the layout you proposed for reason already expressed by other members:
1. Black / blue text on white is (IMO) difficult to read and causes eye strain after a while.
2. Our current layout is somewhat unique, the proposed is not.
3. (IMO) B+W images look better against a gray backgound.
4. The current look is much more professional than the proposed one.
5. the "new look" looks like every other forum to me
That's my 2c...
Bye
Nico

If it anit broke don't fix it. I was really attracted to the look and layout of this site when I first joined a couple of months back. It is great, looks good and individual, easy to read.....this is a really good site...one of the best...please don't stuff it up....

I like the present darker background...

...for viewing photos.
...it's a classier look (and we're quite a classy group, here. 🙄 )
...but it's your site/your call. I'll be here either way.

He, he... you're asking guys who use film how they would like change. *chuckle, chuckle*

I post infrequently ... but I read every day (often more than once). I enjoy the expertise available on this site.
As for the change (my meagre 2 cents) ... leave things the way they are ... the site as is it has a clean bold look that is easily read ... looks classy IMO. The new suggestion looks garish and cheap.

wow !!!! i better not touch this site. I need to upgrade VB but will retain the original theme.
