I was reading a lot of positive comments and saw a lot of samples of this lens, that's why I didn't think twice when I saw the auction this morning.
The 28 is also on my list - after the wife got over the purchase of the 50.:angel:

The 28 and 50 make a very well suited pair. If you are lucky enough to have two bodies you can catch almost everything with that combination. Expect to pay a little more for the M-Hexanon 28 than you paid for the 50mm.

Most of the 28's I have been seeing are in the 600-700 dollar range. Is that about right? For those prices I can almost get a new zeiss 28mm. Not to say that it is any better but just something to think about.

I think that's a bit high. There is one on eBay right now and it is up to $500 already and will probably finish up in the range you are mentioning. The eBay prices are the highest prices people will pay so if you are patient you should be able to get one for $450-500 on a user forum like this one. I bought mine here.

The time will come...
I already have the 90/2,8, so the 28/2,8 is definitely on the list.
Maybe I will sell some currently unused stuff to finance.
