I have also just recently joined these forums. Very impressive place. Still a prisoner of the SLR "cave", I am very much curious about the Leica world, and rangefinders in general. Could someone please direct me to a decent 'site or 'sites where the various M's are compared?

I really am mostly curious, at this point. I am quite happy with my FM3A, but I enjoy exploring other options. There is no danger of thinning the wallet now, though I understand your point. I have (mostly) resisted NAS, stopping here- 24/2.8 AI, 50/2.8 AIS, 75-150mm E, for the moment.
I have the AA book set mentioned, and I intend to reread them soon. One of the best references I've seen, in fact.
