Interesting that you bring up the London raids, Bill. My great-grandmother spent quite a bit of time in Europe in the late fifties and early sixties. With her Leica. She shot almost exclusively with ektachrome, and my father now has all of her slides. I got to comb over the images for the first time after I picked up my scaps in New Orleans. I noticed that even in the late fifties and early sixties, there was still extensive visual damage from the war. I realized that, while the recovery and rebuilding will take time, (as much as rebuilding the great cities of England and Germany), it will happen. Also, you happen to know if Dookie Chase's is open again, would you? I'm also curious about Liuzza's by the tracks, which has the coldest, freshest Abita on tap iin town, not to mention their b.b.q. shrimp po-boys..
