Hi all!
I recently acquired a Sonnar C. I'm very impressed with it! I also have a second version chrome summilux 50mm, and the results are similar except wide open, the summilux is a little sharper, but the Sonnar has a lovely quality at F1.5. Not too much difference is noticed so far after stopping down.
My Nokton 50 is also competitive with these lenses, except there is noticeably more purple fringing.

At what aperture is your Sonnar optimized f/1.5 or f/2.8?
Have you noticed any focus shift issues?

There's a comparison of the ZM 50 Sonnar and 2nd version of the 50 Summilux at f/2 and f/4 included in this post: http://www.rangefinderforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=54569.

I have an Epson R-D1 that was a demo from a camera store. The 50mm Sonnar focuses perfectly and dead on at F1.5, every time. The OOF area appears to be very steep and shallow behind the subject and a little larger in front of the subject, though the point of focus is quite clear and sharp. From what I read, this is due to the lens design.
I would love to post examples of the comparisons... do I link photos to Flickr? I'm new to the forum and haven't done any photo links to posts yet. Thanks,
Mike
