What did you do to my little joke, Magus?? Anyway, I'd go for the Panda, it was always a favorite of mine esthetically, and it looks very smart on formal occasions to wear with black tie 😉

If you buy, of any series, a black and a silver one, you can do a panda and anti-panda version and sell one on. It is not an "official" variant anyway. However, early or late 90-ies should not make a difference, it depends on how the camera has been used. Good luck with your choice, my friend.

I have a M6 TTL (the M6 classic has not got this) and, although the flaring is there, it is, for me, not a problem. I just move the camera slightly or shade the RF with my hand, Injun-style, and all is solved.

My very first Leica rangefinder was a silver M6 classic, which within a month I switched to my current black chrome M6 classic.

I think they would both complement each other very well.

If you had the black chrome M6 first, then I'd say a chrome M3 or MP. But that's just me; I'm weird.

When I was in your shoes (dilemma-wise speaking), I solved it by picking the counterpart of my first camera. My first Leica was a silver model, so I went and got me a black chrome. I use the silver (classic TTL body) for black & white film, and the black one carries color... always.

As for brassing... the silver looks healthy, glowing, alluring and even sexy. The black-chrome never had shiny corners until it landed with me. That's just the nature of the beast (i.e., the way these cameras wear).

Have fun shopping! 🙂

well, this is a delicious exercise in splitting hairs

it would have to be a second chrome classic

or a black one

it is hard not to be attracted to the incredible bargain the classic presents lately (well appreciated as I'm selling one ;-))

I'd say something black so that you can quickly tell it apart from your current one (I would have different film in each if I was out shooting).

Enjoy making your decision!

The MP that I have craved but could never afford would be my first choice.

A black M6 would be my second choice.

A chrome M6 would be my third choice.
