[New test photos released] Leica Summicron 35/2 Eight Element copy made in China

Images made with this lens are hard to find on the internet, but I have a book by Cartier-Bresson from 1969 - "Cartier-Bressons France" - with quite a lot of pictures made with the Noctilux 50mm f/1.2. These pictures are not very sharp. You recognise them instantly.

Excellent! There are already enough sharp 50s available.

I didn't say the brass version is less durable. It's really hard to compare them. It all depends on how often you use the lens and how you treat it.

I have sent you an email for pre-order. Thinking of 2 questions.

1. Can 8 characters be Chinese instead? “8枚”
2. From the brass version, is that simply the raw brass without any chrome or finishing on the brass? I am keen on that brass colour, was thinking if it will tarnish (oxidize) over time, if there is no finishing.

@KEVIN-XU 愛 forever must be commended for answering all the questions in this thread, whether they be relevant to the project or not. 🙂

I’m leaning towards black LTM and black viewfinder.

You may have discussed once that brass has to be coated to avoid oxidation over time, Kevin.

Like others here I'm also excited by this project. Thanks Kevin for all your assistance. I was wondering with the Brass lens what colour will the numbers on the lens barrel be filled in with?
Thank you 🙂

For the brass lens, they will use black and red color for the text filling. Mainly use black color. They will use red color to fill in the "Feet" unit numbers.

UPDATE:

We will stop receiving the reservation for the first batch Lead flint glass version after tomorrow. I wish all the people who are on the buying list have already filled out the google form. There is nothing I can do if you missed this batch.

Cheers,
Kevin
