Hi all, this is my first official post, though I've been registered for several months and lurking around the forum. I own a Leica M3 and a Zorki 1e, but have not shot with them for a very long time. I got interested in RFs again, oddly enough, after getting into M4/3 (I have an Oly E-P1 and PL1). Using the old lenses on these cameras made me want to shoot more film again. However, I have frankly always been anxious about street shooting with my M3, so started looking around this forum for alternatives. Thanks to all the info, I ended up buying a Canon QL17 and an Olympus 35 SP. Really loved the QL17 for its small size, super sharp lens and quiet shutter, but my son decided he wanted to use it, so I started using the SP more. I did not find the photos to be as sharp, and wondered what all the buzz was about on this forum. I then realized (also through the forum) that the RF probably wasn't set right, and lo and behold, the forum also had a fix for that! Needless to say I have been very happy with the 35 SP since re-aligning the focus. A few of my more recent images are below. Will post more later.

Thanks to everyone for sharing all the info and advice. I am very pleased to be shooting with an RF again.

The SP is an excellent camera, and is on a different level than the Canonet QL17. I love he quality of he lens on the SP, and the spot meter is a wonderful feature.

I've been carrying a black paint SP as a backup to my black M4. Both cameras take equally beautiful pictures.

So you're discovering that you could be just as happy with a fraction of the cost of a Leica M? :)

Most people can, but that doesn't negate or invalidate the satisfaction that some people have who do own Leicas. Let's just live and let live.

And you are reading too much into what I wrote in jest, Frank.
Let the smiley face do its job, shall we? :)
