They should METER fine, since I believe they're chipped like the AI-P 45mm, but they are Manual Focus only. Part of their appeal actually.

These are manual focus lenses with Nikon compatible lens CPUs, so they'll meter with the D40/D40x/D60/D90 cameras as well as any AI-S compatible body. E.g. I use my 58/1.4 on my D40 and my F3HP, metering on both bodies.

I have the 40mm/f2. Works like a charm on my FM3A, but the manual focusing is difficult on a D200 mainly because of the short throw of the focus ring and the limits of the focusing screen on the D200. Katz Eye anyone?
