The photoessays are fascinating.
Particularily 'My Father'. Unfortunately it has got me missing Finland again.

the most vague and worthless critique I have ever heard.

Dear Chaser,

Please realize I am a shallow person so my posts are all typically "vague and worthless" as you stated. However, if you do decide to comment on the STRAP site with honest criticism hopefully you will post your in depth critique here too so I can learn from your trained eye. I'm truly not being sarcastic here.

On a lighter note I am not one to be distracted by dust spots or picture artifacts. I attempt to look at images as a whole rather than break them down. In my mind a picture visually works... or it does not.

Best,
George

Ehh,
Sorry I really didn't mean to call you out on that. Lapse of judgment. Lets just say, sorry I pissed you off. I like to check in and look at the photo stories on strap, and beyond that I really just do not actually care about critiques on photo forums and the like. So commenting on a forum in a manner that gets people riled up is just stupid on my part, and for the record I in no way have a trained eye.

- Sorry

Ahoj! Update! I'm a little bit promoting our new story: we both STRAP photographers decided to combine our powers and document the traditional finnish party called "vappu" (a.k.a. 1st of may / labor day). The goal was to produce and publish a small story with a fast schedule and with the power of teamwork by doing our own work separately and mixing the images into a one story. Jussi took pictures in northern Finland and I in southern Finland. We hope you enjoy the results and maybe give a comment or two!

Nice website. I like your work a lot, especially that documentary approach that look at unexpected themes inside the event you cover without being anecdotical. Congratulations.

Great work, as always.
I think you've captured both sides of Vappu, the shots aren't celebratory or defamatory, they just are... If that made sense.

Great concept, impressive pieces of work, all proving that snow it good for your mental health :)
