Hello guys,

sorry for the long disappearance from the forum, I have been very busy with a zillion thing, one of these being a too long due update of my website. Well, the work is now done: you can check the result quite a few sleepless nights here:

Vieri Bottazzini Photographer

A lot of the material in it has been shot with film Ms: most of the reportage section, and a few pics here and there in the other sections as well. Well, there is also some M8 shots in it - before I gave up to the Digital M thingy and went back to all film M... :D

Of course, all comments are very much appreciated, both on the contents and on the site itself - I did test it as thoroughly as I could, but a few sets of fresh eyes would be very much appreciated!

Wow, so much great work and a really great site.

I agree with yoyo22's suggestion about dropping the loading animation, as its motion is predictable and distracting, which is at odds with your magnificent work!

Again, great work. The photos are beautiful.

Nice site, but may I suggest you remove the loading animation in your slideshows?

Great site, marvelous work!

Thank you very much guys, I am glad you enjoyed the photography! :) By the way, I did take out the preloading animation, it works much better without it, thank you for the suggestion :D

May I ask: are you using SlideShowPro with plain XML-file-configuration, or are you using the director?

Sure you may - I am using plain XML-configuration, on the SSP standalone version (I don't have Flash - rather than buying it just for using SSP, I'd spend the money on more Leica stuff :D ).

Love your fotos and I would only suggest working on breaking it out thematically. Like sorting out various chapters of a book. For instance, a bearded bum, a nighclub band, and a modern gallery do not have much in common IMO. Ralph Gibson writes that without a clear theme a portfolio goes nowhere (paraphrased). Enjoyed your slideshow. TKS.

Thank you for your feedback - I thought that the menu above the initial splash page was visible enough, but probably you didn't notice it :D anyway, the first slideshow is just a teaser-splash, just click on the menu above and you'll see the full site.

Very nice website . . .

I enjoyed going through each of your portfolios looking to see the different types of subjects that you photograph.

I do not have much constructive criticism for you at the moment, I need to spend more time looking through the site. I think the navigation works well, wonderful selection of photographs as well. The only thing that comes to mind, is under the "reportage" section, possibly having captions to go with each image; having the cations pop up separately--maybe this is not necessary.

It looks good,

Thank you very much! :D Will think about the caption suggestion and look into it, thanks again;

I like the Istanbul folder...Maybe because I was born in Istanbul :)

nice work...

I definitely understand that! I like Istanbul a lot, even though I was born in Milan, Italy - go figure :D Thanks for your comment!

Got it. Thank you.

I haven't yet explored beyond the initial slide show, but I found myself watching it over and over. Lots of great images presented without distraction. I think the site and the photography are both well executed.

Incredibly good photographs here.

Incredibly good photographs here.

I've spent maybe an hour looking at your reportage site and am amazed at the excellence of your photos. Very skillful framing and composition give just so much to the viewer, I thank you for all your hard work photographing and compiling these into such visual delights here on your website.

Ciao Vieri

I liked a lot your reportage section, especially the one about Milan (probably because it's the only one I could judge for myself having been there), especially pictures #15 and #28. Although all are very well done and composed, these add a deeper meaning to the whole image. Don't forget to chime in if you're in the surroundings of Parma !
