My X1 is redundant - the GXR and either of the current APC modules is as good or better in terms of image quality!
Not so sure of this... I used both and preferred the X1 to the GXR A12 28mm.

Why bother? Ricoh's own APS-C 50mm (effective) f2.5 macro produces stunning results.
I'm not interested in macro, but tried the DR Summicron 50 on the GXR M-12 unit and like the results better than I get with the GXR/!2 50mm-e lens. I think that the characteristic look of the DR Summicron at f/2.0 shows through, perhaps because oif the absence of an AA filter. Am thinking of selling the A12/28 and A12/50 camera units and using my Leica M-Lenses, although I want to see how the NEX-7 works with the lenses because I like the NEX-7 design and the high-resolution EFV.Why bother? I've read some reports on FM that the NEXC3 and NEX5N are showing a bit of blurring at the edges using wide angle legacy glass.
