NEX-7 vs X100

The most natural looking: 1) Nex-7/Zeiss 24 1.8 at 1.8, Neutral -3 0 -3.
The Fuji looked washed out.

One thing to be wary of - the wider Biogons (21, 25, 28) are likely to be soft at the edges and in the corners even when stopped down some - this is a by-product of the NEX's anti-alias filter combined with the nature of the lens design. .

zm 21/4.5 is very good but does shift color. zm 21/2.8 soft at the edges. zm28 is VERY sharp on the nex 5n

24 elmar is fantastic.

28 summicron is very good.

Both CV 28s are good, and also 25 and 21 skopars.

Nexes including 7 love the tri-elmars.

GXR is excellent as you note, but poor evf and LCD compared to 5n, and not able to use nearly as many lenses.

all this said its a matter of waiting for a good short register FF EVIL.

Interesting,.......I don't particularly like "plasticky" cameras either but when I saw and handled the x100 a few weeks back I was VERY dissapointed with it's crude and 'tinny' quality,....how people can compare it with the precision cameras of the film era is beyond me. It actually felt and handled like a cheap point-and-shoot from the 1980's,...which is actually what it is; a 'two-hundred quid' car camera sold with a lot of 'madam' for four times that!

No way - it's about the same level as the hexar AF and contax G series I think. Definitely much better than old film point and shoots

Wow, don't own an X100 but that certainly was not my impression from handling a few copies. It actually reminded me of my FM2n which has build enough for most.

I doubt you've actually seen/ held it.

All it has in common with platicy is, it's shiny
But you can say the same of a BP M2.

It's outer bits are magnesuim alloy.🙄
