Next M8 shipment?

My dealer says he thinks he will get mine - which I ordered at the beginning of November, just before the "recall" - before the end of the month.

Now, why would Leica rush the shipments since they offer a 30% rebate on a lens if your M8 is paid in full before Dec. 31st? The less, the better for them. So they just have to delay shipments a tiny bit (early Januray will do) and there go hundreds of rebates down the drain. Promise impossible to hold. Good deal for them. Of course, you can still get your rebate by paying in full before Dec. 31st without getting your M8, and then just wait for it.

That's Amazon's standard boilerplate for out of stock items. I wouldn't put too much stock in it.

I'm number 50-something on Tony's list and I was told yesterday that February would likely be the earliest I would be receiving mine--and that would be a best-case scenario. Patience...
 
Just because you live in Brooklyn too, don't get any wise ideas about intercepting the package...
 
I am kidding of course, but if I get it early and you want to meet up for coffee or something to check it out, that would be fine by me. I always like meeting fellow RFF'ers. I had a great time in with some people from here when I went to Amsterdam and we met up to go shooting and have a drink.

Another Amazon ploy. They are forever slipping availability dates to keep you hanging on as a customer. If it doesn't say "in stock", don't believe it.

I talked to a Brussels Leica dealer, and he told me that every Leica Pro dealer in Belgium (must be a lot of those;🙁 ) got exactly one M8, and he has no idea when he'll get more...

My M8 has arrived!🙂
It came to Norway this Monday and my dealer got it this morning and I hold it in my hand right now......

Yep, we are only getting a few for sure on Friday. Maybe more the week after Xmas.
