Damaso seems to be away. (Senegal?)
Robklurfield kinda hooked me into proceeding and arranging an April Meet-Up in Damaso's absence. He better show up, that bugger. (Read through the February Meet-Up thread for a few laughs and the smut.)
Door prize to the attendee who travels the furthest will be an unopened/sealed box of 100 feet of Ilford Pan F. It is years past the exporation date, but has been stored in the fridge.
Please participate in the first annual Leica M-body beauty contest (inspired by Carl's brassed out M). Want a reason to pimp out your M. Wanna become an exhibitionist? Want to show off your Leica and put it on display? Attendees to the April Meet-Up will vote and select the winner. The prize is a vintage issue of Fotographie International from 1997 that features the Leica M6. A very retro collectable that is a great conversation peice.
Typically in past Meet-Ups we tend to group up at differant tables, but we need to mix more. The smaller group of friends I made were very engaging, interesting and inspiring, but I regret that I didn't get to meet and talk with everyone. At my table we laughed hard and a lot. I say we need an event to make sure everyone circulates more. This event is just something differant.
There are also some interesting shows going on around town. HCB at MOMA for one; and W Eugene Smith at Lincoln Center that can lead to further exchanges. I suggest making arrangements to see the show(s) with other RFF members. (Again refere to the February Meet-Up thread for further smut/details.)
I'll be at Lorelie's at 1:00 the 25th of April. Hope to see you there.

I might actually be able to make it this time... This little kid my wife had prevented me from making the last 2 meetups, but I think I can make this one..
I have a door prize also,
1- If anyone is interested. I have an older epson flatbed, does 35 negs, dont remember the model number, Ill update later when I get home. I was going to get rid of it, so If anyone wants it, let me know, I dont want to carry it in if no one takes it.
2- If we end up at the MOMa, not sure how to award this, me and 2 guests get a freebe into the museum.. My work is a contributer and we get perks..
Cheers

Fidel, I found that Voitlander meter for you, but I later found out and remembered that I had dropped it. All these years and I finally trashed it (threw it away). Oh well.
Its very cool recycling old un-needed gear. I believe it brings good luck.
Congradulations BTW.
Cal
Hope to make it.

I was indeed traveling in Senegal, not to mention feeling lazy about organizing the next meet up so I'm glad someone else will now be held responsible! I should be able to make it...

We're all light!
I'm in. Thanks for taking up the torch this time, Cal!
As far as door prizes, I might do the photographic equivalent of baking a cake. a signed print of one of my favorite photos, for what that's worth.
(I', in the middle oa serious workspace makeover, but the dust should settle soon enough for printing something.)

Grrrr... can't make it on that particular Sunday. A great aunt's b-day is on that day and I can't miss it.

Had an inadvertant early Meet-Up with ScottWallick on Saturday. Seems like even though I did not see him at Keith's opening at Chelsea, I ran into him at ICP because we both were participating and taking a free class offered for members. We talked before our differant classes and then had coffee in Bryant Park afterwards before my class at FIT.
Although there are eight million people in NYC, it seems it is always the same people again and again that are hard core that make a differance. At earlier meet ups I met guys that inspired me with their work, talent and of course gear. I'm sure there will be other times to meet again.
Cal
I had a good time last time... even though it was a small meeting.

At the more crowded Meet-Ups, I mostly interact with about 6-7 people out of the big group. I was thoroughly engaged an laughed a lot.
Only Briefly I met Barrett and Carl.

Well, looks like I'll make it after all. Look forward to some beer, food, and people / photos / cameras.

Fidel, Good that you're going to make it.
I'll be there at 1:00 on Sunday.
I just want to mention that I only have time on the Internet capabilities at my boring day job, and I will be taking Wednesday, Thursday and Friday off to do some art. I would aprerciate, during my absence at my day job, if people can bump and pump this thread.
Thanks in advance.

Lorelei's
I plan to be there. I just read some reviews of Lorelei's that were not too good...some comments about management not allowing groups to sit together. Makes no sense to me. Is this true?
