I was out tonight a little past midnight and found what appeared to be an abandoned building, complete with broken windows and all. Of course, I was there for other things so I didn't have a camera. I'm going back in the daylight to check it out for safety and if it's good, may go back in the night for some shots. There's a street light across the street that should be good. Maybe I'll even have a moon if it stops raining here.

I've caught some Hell for the tilted horizon line, but I still like it!

I spent a lot of time on my roof, taking in this view. I miss NYC!

I took this series of shots during a 10-hour overnight bus trip from Zagreb to Ljubljana several years ago. I couldn't get to sleep so I placed my cheap digital point-and-shoot on the window and took several 15-second exposures whenever I came across some light. For some reason, out of the hundreds of photos that I took whilst in Europe, I always come back to these images. A time traveling alone, in winter, visiting cities that I'd never even heard of before.

I live in Chicagoland, so night photography is always an option - even at 2AM! I prefer a tripod and digital camera to ascertain exposure. Four 30-sec shots were stacked to yield the image below. Canon 1Ds, 50 ASA, Yashica 300/5.6 ML C, distance-to-subject 12mi. :)
