I have heard very good things about the quality of the 50mm f/1.4 lens that came with the Nikon S3 2000 kit. Does anyone know where I could find one of these lenses and how much I should expect to pay?

Thanks.

That's a hard one. Maybe in Japan. I recall people buying the S3-2000 kits and selling off the body, just to keep the lens.

I think the S3-2000 kits are somewhat easy to find (ebay, etc).

I've only seen the lens sell separately one or two times. It generally seems to be valued in the realm of $1,000 in new condition. But there aren't enough sales to establish a meaningful pattern, so it's more the old rule of thumb of "It's worth what you're willing to pay for it."

We'll know soon!

3.5cm f1.8 lens no. 0923 @ starting price of 100,000 yen

3.5cm f1.8 lens hood @ starting price of 20,000 yen

I also noticed a 3.5cm f1.8 W-Nikkor reissue lens for sale at Lemonsha camera shop in the Ginza, Tokyo the Friday before last. It was priced at 150,000 yen including hood. They also had two SP 2005s without lenses. The serial no.s of the cameras didn't match the lens.
