Nikon cliché you are fed up with?

None, they are probably all true. Go on, heft a Nikonos IVa in your hand and try not to feel the temptation to hammer things or foes with it :)

I don't know about nails, but Bjørn Rørslett tells of breaking through the ice on a Norwegian river, and using the F5 he was shooting with to bash his way out from under the ice floe. I guess that's because it's built like a tank, yet he was taking razor sharp photos with it. And excitement will surely exhilarate engineers!

"F body so tough you can hammer nails with it . . . "

Havent got an F at the moment, so I cannot test it out... But this one I am sure is right!

(I once cooked an Canon Ftb for 5 minutes, then threw it out of the sixth floor unto the asphalt and snow. Collected it, put it on the plate... Worked for 30 exposures or so after being steamed violently...)

Nikon's website has a field full of clichés:

I like Nikon stuff, their cliches don't bother me that much.

I think this thread will be funnier if we're talking about Canon :p

So now you have one side. Nikonians are always complaining that Leica gets all the glowing attention.

Well, one Nikon cliché I'm fed up with is:

Nikon lenses are better and cheaper

The other one is:
They make the best lenses in the entire known and unknown Universe

I think this thread is backfiring a bit as most of the clichés being mentioned here I have heard many times more from Leica users. I cant ever recall hearing any Nikon owner claiming that all their lenses are the best but it IS something I here every week from Leica users.
