I can fit the Cosmicar 12.5mm f/1.4 TV if you prefer wide angle. More pure photography.

Ah... YES! Brings back memories of the Zeiss 25 on the ZI! 😀

This camera had better live up to that classy teaser or Nikon will spend a long, long time getting over it.
I have to say I'm kinda waiting for Nov 5 which is this Tuesday.
This is because, this will be the first "Pay as you go" Nikon dSLR. The camera has a built in payment system which is tied to your bank account directly. Every photograph taken is automatically deducted in wear, technology, and loan costs from your bank account.
THIS is PURE PHOTOGRAPHY of the modern era.
My D700 has it too.Is anyone else stoked on the appearance of the viewfinder eye hole on this camera resembling the F3HP-style circular hole we find on Nikon pro SLRs as opposed to the squinty rectangular ones we find on the D600 and lower cameras? I love this feature but I also fear it's a sign that it's going to be priced accordingly....
My D700 has it too.And a real switch for metering
The hybrid part will probably encompass being able to set apertures (and meter) with a MF lens by reading your aperture/shutter speed in the VF, a la FE2/FM2, but obviously electronically.

My D700 does it too.
Thanks for the gratuitous insult.
This is the main concern I have with this otherwise very fine camera. I could live with its 995g weight, yet its size really doesn't fit the Domke bag I use to carry all around 24/24, while my old F2 with DE-1 prism perfectly does it.I would not carry my D700 with a prime lens everyday because it is way too large (...)
Am I the only person here who likes the F4? Solid build, dedicated control dials and switches always to hand. Works with almost every F mount lens, even in matrix meter mode. Here's hoping Nikon follow up the dF with the dF4 😀
Remember remember the fifth of November
