Will the Jupiter 12 fit into the body of a Nikon S. My concern is the protruding rear element of this lens rubbing against and damaging the camera shutter curtains.
I'd love to hear from someone who has used this camera/lens combination
Thank You in advance.

I don`t know how different the design of the S is from the S2 but the J-12 in Kiev mount works well with my Nikon S2. I just had to grind some material from the J-12 mount to not scratch the front plate of the S2 when mounting the lens.

Same experience here. Works like a charm on my S2.

I used my J-12 on my Nikon S2 and it works fine, but the lens's bayonet mount does scratch the front plate on the Nikon S2 when mounting on and would probably do the same on the Nikon S.

So if you got a pristine S, I would not recommend it unless you slightly modify the mount on the J-12 with a file so mounting the lens will not scratch the camera.

The S has a larger gap between the front escutcheon and the bayonet prongs than the S2. So it may fit without grinding off a bit of the back mount of the lens. The S mount is closer to the Contax mount in dimensions than the S2 in my experience.
