Nikon SB-E for Leica MP

Is the Nikon SB-E flash safe to use with a Leica MP? I have heard of some flash guns having high voltage that could fry some cameras, so I want to make sure before I try out an SB-E.

Is there a real risk with the MP though? The only electronics are the meter circuitry which you would you'd think wouldn't be affected. (Or maybe it is?) It's not like putting an old flash on a DSLR which is much more risky.

Hmmm, I see what you mean. The meter is not in the path of the flash mechanism (I hope), so there is no electronics to fry. 😱
