Nikon SP 2005 Kit lens filter?

What size filter should I use with the lens in the kit?

It is a 35mm f1.8 lens.

Also, any recommendation on a good filter? 😀

I use 43mm Marumi filters on mine because they are easy to find locally. I also put the 48mm lens cap in the box for safe keeping and use a Nikon 43mm lens cap instead.

I just found a 43mm Marumi filters in my drawer. I am sure when I got this filter. But it is great to know that I can use this filter. 🙂

B+W also make 43mm filters with 0.5mm thread pitch, which will fit these Nikon RF lenses.
Unfortunately, the lenses that I own (ZM) take 43mm filters with 0.75mm thread pitch.

The reissue Nikkors (35/1.8 and 50/1.4) have a 0.75mm thread pitch. Interestingly, my Marumi 43mm filters which I think have a 0.75mm thread pitch work fine on both the reissue Nikkors and vintage Nikkors with a 0.50mm thread pitch.

I use Hoya and B&W filters with my 35mm f/1.8 reissue. They work just fine.

I've always used a 43mm filter. One thing to watch out for: On my vintage 35/1.8, if the filter is too snug a fit, then when I go to remove it, the entire front lens group unscrews from the lens housing, exposing the aperture blades. From there on it's easy to remove the filter and reassemble the lens, but it can slow you down and be a bit disconcerting when it happens. There does not seem to be a set-screw to hold the lens group in place, just friction.
