Vince, it is often said that the super-high resolution of modern imaging chips is not kind to older folks, in terms of portraiture. But I really think you've made the system work for you here. Very nice use of the shallow depth of field; sharp where it needs to be to convey a sense of the person without the viewer feeling compelled to count every pore.

I swear, there is one of these cameras in my future. . . .Nikon ought to send you a commission on RFC'ers who make the purchase.

Based on the results I’ve been getting from this camera, from its ability to provide great-looking scans with the ES-2, to its video, as well as its black and white rendering, it has become a ‘do everything’ camera for me. As much as I am a Leica devotee, this camera has seemingly replaced my Monochrom (which I sold a couple of weeks ago), at least for now.

If the rumoured 61mp Z8 does in fact come out later this year, I hope that it retains the same body size and general design of the Z7. The camera feels great to hold and use.

Almost-ish, just lower altitude. These were Flaming Gorge, which is a bit out of the way for most people.

I love the excellent B / w of my Leica M9P but I believe that the Z6 is also able to provide optimal b / w.

I'll take a deep breath, cover my ears, and say I think these are very "film-like'. Nicely done!

I know, that's why I've been hesitating on the M10M! The Z7 is pretty good in that department, especially in prints.

As much as I hate to say it..I probably prefer to use a zoom for most of my stuff..as it seems my compositions come out way better when I have those spontaneous mm choices..
If I could double up with my M lenses..with the Nikon..I might just go for it..
But not sure how the sensor would work in that regard..

The M lenses seem to do fine on the Z7, but the prime lenses that are dedicated for the Z are great too. I think I need to do more of a comparative study of the M lenses (Z7 vs my M-D, for example) to really see if there's a difference.

As soon as I have time I will compare my Summilux 50 II on the Z6 and M9.
The Summilux 50 II is a very nice lens but with a very critical definition at the edges, but on the Z6 it seems to be as good as on the M9.
