Nikonos II with LW-Nikkor 28mm f/2.8 has any one heard of this lens, heard they are quiet hard to find, what do you think there value is?

I have this lens new in the box with all documentation, etc. Yes, it is rare and designed for above water use. As for value, hard to say. Mine came to me years ago with a new in the box Nikonos II camera. Yes...I collect mint/new Nikonos.

The LW-Nikkor is the "splash-proof" 28mm - not that rare, but declining in popularity after Nikon issued the amphibian W-Nikkors, the more so as it is generally considered a significantly worse performer than the amphibian 35mm W-Nikkor. Still, it is the widest Nikonos lens that will focus to infinity above water, and despite its reputation I was satisfied with its IQ.

I paid 75€ for lens (with fading finish, but flawless glass) and a fairly nice IV not that long ago - so don't expect any riches. Mint Nikonos in original box can be rare and collectible, but used, their value with one of the base lenses is quite surprisingly low.

I've got one of these lenses on the way to try out. How did you go about framing - does the full view of the Nikonos V give a reasonable approximation or would I really need to use a subsidiary finder?

Also, does anybody have a link to a copy of the instructions for the lens, or might be able to forward a scan of them?
