Nine Days Photography

Is SH Photo now trading as Nine Days Photo?
I keyed in Super Angulon and the first listing that came up was Nine Days and the pics of the shop interior look like SH.

Personally, I'd never buy from SH as they seem like rip off artists.

I don't know about SH, but I bought an M7 from Nine Days. They didn't mention that the 75mm framelines had been removed, nor that the wind-on action was a little rough.

A friend of mine visits Nine Day's shop in HK regularly. He seems to think they are reliable but I'm not so sure.

I've had several bad experiences with HK sellers years ago and generally I will not buy any camera gear there now.

I was there with my friend purchasing and the shop owner was cheeky, the said price was lower than what he charged on my friend's credit card. By the time he found out, owner said that was the price he mentioned. Another episode was selling excellent condition lens as brand new, worse part was refuse to take it back unless you pay restocking fee. Imagine you are miles away with your credit card number in his hand.

I bought an M-Hexanon 35mm f2.0 from Nine Days. No box or papers, no hood, but the hood surfaced a few days after he shipped out the lens. We struck a deal for the hood and he sent it the same day.

All in all the set (minus box and papers) was cheaper than a complete set on sale in Italy, until Dutch customs wanted part of the action.

Financially I should have stuck to the Italian job 🙂 since no customs fees would have occured, but the Nine Days part of the deal was very nice. Paid through PayPal and even was allowed to pay in two terms before shipping commenced.

Sorry to read about these bad experiences, they have nice gear listed, although quite expensive.

I'd only buy from HK Supplies via the net from Hong Kong, but they don't do second hand. This Nine Days just seems dodgy to me...

I've been to their Kowloon store and bought a Contax T and I was very satisfied with my purchase. They have a nice selection of photo books at the store that you can browse. The salesperson was quite helpful and told me where I could buy Japanese camera magazines nearby. You can also get a lower than eBay price when you buy at the store.

I purchased a super angulon 21mm f3.4 black from Nine days on ebay, which they claimed to be in excellent condition, cosmetic and optical. About less than 1 week later, I received the lens and was shocked to see obvious scratches on front element and fungi inside! Then I contacted the seller about these issues while his reply was to compensate me $100 for dissatisfaction or to get the lens returned to them but charge　$100 reinstock fee. This is just rediculous that I opened the package, saw these defects and returned it at my cost; and still need to pay $100 extra!

Thanks to paypal and ebay protection, I got full refund but paid $40 EMS postage for shipping back. Would never buy anything from Nine days after the nightmare!

I've made three very good deals with Ninedays, an M7, a G2 and a G21. All went very smoothly, everything was used and arrived as described and photographed.
