Good grief. 28mm Elmarit AND 90mm Summicron. Bigfoot is Tres envious.
No Bob. I'm going to wear out the hardware I now own. One digital camera is confusing enough.

Wayne... why Bigfoot and Bubba? No matter what, I've been wrecking my brains to figure out why would you call a camera by either name... Wondering, wondering, wondering...
Take care!

Nice Francisco. You still have the 35 Hexanon? I bet that would look sweet on the M5. Now that I think of it, I bet the bigger size of the M5 would be a good match for the 35/1.2 Nokton.

Glad to see you again, Kevin!
I still have the Hexanon 35, but it's permanently attached to my M4-2 these days. However, before sending the M5 to Sherry, I used it with that lens... and they worked wonders. However, the thought of leaving my M4-2 lensless (or worse yet, with a 50mm lens on) prompted me to get myself in deeper debt, so I bought a used copy of the Nokton 35/f1.4.
However, the lust for that other Nokton crossed my mind. The price stopped me.
Do you baptize your cameras too?

No, I've never baptized one yet.
I'm not shooting any 35mm film now, but the 35/1.2 Nokton would certainly tempt me to start again. I think it's one of those lenses you have to own at least once. It sure would balance nicely on the M5!

It does balance nicely on an M5, true. I rather like it on mine

Nice to see M5 lovers here. It seems so many Leica owners snare and say only bad things about it. While imho the M5 is the greatest departure fromt the goal of a small pocketable camera as the Leica was originally envisioned, I think it is the best of the lot, at least those with the built in meter. It does take some getting used b/c of the size difference to an M but not a problem after only a little while. I do not understand the 2 lug strap setup on this model but can on the little CL.
Years ago when I starting thinking about an M, I looked at the 5 and really liked it but my friends who owned other Leicas pooh-poohed it and turned my head from it. Today, if I were to want and look for an M flanged Leica it would be a 5 as 1st choice.

Last weekend was busy: in addition to some silly family shots, we met with our book club friends (B&W, my friends said they were afraid their photos would show up in a gallery, but then didn't object to that), and then the Sycamore Pumpkin Festival (parade with lots of high schoolers and politicians), and Trick-o-Treating with Edmund. In sum, I have six rolls to take to the store and almost depleted my stash of C-41 (still have nice amounts of slide and B&W, but the former takes some time to come back from a lab, and the latter will have to wait until my arm doesn't hurt when I make repetitive motions).
BTW, CapitalK...
I did laugh at your sinister directions!

Welcome to the club. The instructions for the secret handshake is hidden, on a folded up piece of paper behind the CDS cell.

Yes Indeed,
I had a 50mm Nokton f/1.1 for a short time, and it indeed does balance nicely on the M5. The 35mm is tad longer, that's all.

STOP!
My mind keeps drifting to that lens. If I eliminated all duplication of lenses I might be able to raise enough scratch for a second M5 and the 35mm Nokton. I can see dedicating the Nokton to an M5. Use the other body for 50 & 90. Hmmmmmmmmmmm...........................
