If no one has mentioned it yet, the Fuji X100 series is one of my very favorite cameras. I have the original and it is everything you mention. I got the wide angle lens for it and though the pictures are great, I just don't care for that added bulk. It will fit in a coat pocket easily without the lens hood on, a dandy camera.

On my Leica II, I use a grey wrist strap with a big disk-like dial to secure it, that is branded 'Elmo'. Apparently it came from a 1960s movie camera. The big dial has the exact same proportions as the round edge of the Leica II bottom plate.
But, nobody cares.

It's stashed in the dark and scary regions of the garage, but just picture getting out your scissors and removing the two side pouches. Makes a bigger version of the F6 but with a big back pocket.

I had anxiety for years, anticipating that one day the terminals of my spare camera battery might short circuit in my trouser pocket if I carried coins in the same pocket. A few times I even had to park in expensive parking garages because I carried no change for parking meters, and the garages take credit cards.
So last week (I think it was Tuesday, maybe early afternoon, maybe it was Thursday morning though), I went downstairs and attacked this challenge head on.
I made a battery envelope using paper card stock and scotch tape.
You can see here how conveniently the battery slips into the little case that insulates it from the coins in my pocket.

I just bought a C-41 home developing kit to process my supply of C-41. I'll shoot, develop, & scan. Once my C-41 is gone that will be it for color. Just B&W.
Nifty DIY solution... Dave, when un-boxing a new Leica 262, one finds that Leica shipped the battery in a cool non-conducting black fabric draw-string pouch. With Leica logo. After removing the battery, the pouch collapses completely, very small, very classy.... But, who cares? 🙂

Daveleo, I have exactly the same neurosis about loose batteries. I like your solution.
If I carry around a single battery, I put it in it's own shirt, jacket or bag pocket. If I have several I either rubber band them together so the contacts can't touch each other or arrange them in a snug way so that they stay next to each other rather than tumbling around.
See, some people do care.
