Hello, I recently purchased a used 50mm noctilux. I then went out to get some filters. I was told that the noctilux uses 60mm filters. After i purchased them and got home, none of them seemed to fit as they all looked 1-3mm's too big for the threading. Is this possible? my lense didnt come with a hood, is that why? or is there something else maybe missing from my noctilux? thanks in advance for any help.

Yes I'm sure that's it. The first version of the f1.0 Noctilux uses 58mm filters. A lot of people like the first version because 58mm filters are much cheaper and easier to get than 60mm filters. Expect 60mm filters to be even more expensive and hard to find now that the 75mm Summilux has been discontinued by Leica.

thanks for the help. looks like i have to sell/trade my 60mm filters! I guess in the long run it'll be cheaper though.

What kind of filters did you buy for the lens? I have a E60 Noctilux and might want to buy some filters if you decide to sell them. Let me know if you don't choose to buy an adapter ring.
