I really don't understand the negative sentaments that this lense seems to provoke in people.
I've had my (latest version) Noctilux for about six months now and absolutely love it. It's unusable on my M8, but load one of my film Ms with fast film and it allows me to shoot unnoticed in situations I otherwise wouldn't be able to... and the dream-like quality of the results... magical!
Here's a few I took during the recent 60th Independence Day party here in Tel-Aviv... MP, Fuji Pro 800Z, Noctilux, all wide open...

Oh, well if you insist
Here's another two Noctilux shots taken during a Free Tibet demo I happened to stumble into in Shibuya, Tokyo whilst shopping with the long-suffering girlfriend...
Leica MP, Fuji Pro800Z (I think, may have been Fuji Pro400N), Noctilux wide-open...
Who was saying this isn't a useable lense?

I actually like the look of Fuji Pro color films, it is interesting look with noctilux. At first moment I could believe that it was shot with 50 lux pre asph which is not bad for 1.0! Of course it depends on distance of the object but it works!

Wow those are some amazing shots. If I ever can afford a notcilux I'll be purchasing one without a single thought.

Urban Alchemist - outstanding shots!
You are showing the technical prowess of the lens better than I think I have seen before. Color is great and this shows the lens as very sharp wide open.
Now where did I bury that $4500?

Doc, outstanding shot. I love this one! Very extraterrestrial! I just wish for the car on the left to be more blurry so the whole attention could be on the woman.
