Nokton 50/1.5 (for Prominent) on Leica M8

I like the color shots of the beach the best - I do like some of those "muted" color tones as well -a beautiful vintage/ethereal rendition.

Raid- the purple tint may just be due to the M8, which is well-reputed for this,
which is why I used one of the special filters to get rid of the purple tint.

But it sounds like you are also saying that you DONT get a purple tint with the Zeiss lens on the M8? (without a filter?)

Hi Gary,
This last batch of images was not taken with the M8 but with the EP2. You can accept the muted colors, or you adjust the colors. I have so many lenses that having only two such IR cut filters does not help me much.
Having white beaches with lots of sunlight means that images will be high contrast. There, a lens like the old Nokton can deliver good results.

I now realized that while the lens focuses well with EP2, maybe it is off on the M8. I will have to carefully focus next time on the M8 to see if there is a mismatch somehow.

That's a very good portrait lens, and you took some wonderful shots. I like the way it's softness gives a classic portrait look.
