Last week, I bought a ZM 28/2.8 from Sleepyhead. The lens was shipped out on Wednesday with the Danish Postal Service. Now, coming from the land where packages sent to or from the US often take two weeks or more to be delivered, I figured that I would be more than pleased to see the lens by some time next week. So, imagine my surprise when I came home this afternoon to find a delivery notice on the door. After a short walk to the post office, the lens is now mounted on my M2. Denmark to Ottawa (that's almost 6000 Km for those keeping score at home) in 6 days! Is anyone at Canadapost or USPS taking notes here? Now I just need to find out whether I can start shipping packages to Montreal or to New York through the Danish Postal Service!;)

i bought a used zeiss grip here (texas member) and it was shipped on the 13th.
i bought a new cv lens from cq here and it was shipped on the 24th.
they are both listed on the cdn p.o. website as out for delivery today.

go figure...

Danish Postal Service sounds great.

Whatever you do, avoid Deutsche Post. It took me 7 weeks to get a lens from Germany to Dallas.

Thats what happens when you opt for the cheapest (!) shipping. Airmail from western europe to the US is 2 days normally. I am regularly sending parcel either with Deutsche Post / DHL or UPS.

Sleepyhead may have a special relationship with Danish Postal Service! I bought an item from him that was shipped from Denmark 8/6 and arrived in Washington State USA 8/13/07... :)

Marc,
6 days, that's not bad, that's not the quickest delivery either. My ZI took less than 6 days (wth the time difference) to fly from sunny Florida to rainy Paris ... by USPS. Once, in USPS Express, it took 2 days for my lens to cross the Atlantic and reach Paris but ... 5 days to cross Paris!!! I hate Chronopost (French Express service), I just hate them!
By the way congratulations on your 28/2.8 ZM :) and don't forget to post some pictures!
Best,
Marc-A.

Haven't ordered anything from Denmark, but I have purchased a few books from Amazon UK. They've arrived (to the Southeast) in 4-6 days.

I just bought some goodies from Mr. Gandy that were shipped USPS on the day before Thanksgiving from LA and arrived the day after Thanksgiving.

And the UK government want to “improve” and “modernise” the Post Office through introducing “competition”, so it’s more efficient like the rest of the world! Madness and bloody dogma!………world gone mad!!…….hell in a handcart!!!, etc. etc.
