J-M,
Jim and Randy have incited plans to set up some field events involving perhaps a Philly Meet-Up (our friends in Philly are many). Let's not make our friendships one sided.
Also how cool would it be to do say do an overnight visit to Baltimore as a shooting vacation as a small group.
I'd be into this if people are ok with my crazy ways.

John,
Crazy is good I say. Also takes one to know one.
Back in the day my friend Mike and I would go on mountain bike vacations trying to kill ourselves. One year we went to Snowshoe West Virginia. These events are true adventure and are not like going on vacation with your girlfriend.
Also some of the shots Jim showed me are just so great: one of a sheep that had been shaved wearing a coat like Baby-Dog's except with a Giraff print that looks like 42d Street back in the 70's LOL; and this guy with a horn tucked inbetween his legs like a horn coming out of his butt. You just can't make these kinda shots up in the studio. LOL.
I can see going away for a weekend to explore for the sole purpose of shooting. Perhaps overnight for one or two nights. With Amtrack and Port Authority buses Philly and Baltimore are within reach. Basically nothing luxury and raunchy is okay for me.

It was great to meet everyone! I had a good time. Definitely excited for the next meet.
I really liked the photo books... I might have to make one of those someday.

Very happy I finally made to a meet up. Had a great time and I really want to put some work together. Seeing Cal's prints and some others photo books has inspired me. Thanks for having me.

Steve,
Welcome to our support group. We have a stable bunch of regulars and over the years my friends have become very dear to me. Basically we all support each other.
Every month for 7 years (or is it 8) this November.

What I found so interesting is how many guys joined in fighting over a brick of Tri-X and the signed books.
This year we had so many prizes and I would like to thank everyone who donated prizes.
Behind the scenes goat leather was distributed that will be used to recover a naked IIIG (Sam's) and recover a Contax (Bob). I have a swatch of the Italian Goat Leather to recover my own IIIG that currently is still fully dressed.
Just to pump up John C. and pimp him, in the spring he will have a show.
Anyways here is some smut: I was a bit worried about crowd control and woke up at 5 AM Sunday a bit anxious, Then I got diverted to the Brooklyn Bridge due to subway construction, then the Fire Department condemed our balcony.
Anyways inside I was freaking out because if we had another flash mob like when we got invaded by the "Jersey Boys" when we had that Meet-Up in Harlem Public, because I couldn't image around 50 people sitting around our round table.

My thanks too, for the great afternoon at Puck Fair. Thanks for welcoming us out-of-countriers. Great to meet so many of RFF's Big Names and to hear their stories. Thanks Cal especially for the education in digital printing.

Shouldn't it be sharper?
there's also a monthly meet in Baltimore of film photographers, usually on a Sunday at a pizza joint near UMBC. Cal, check out Patrick Joust's stuff (he's on flickr)--think you'd really enjoy his work! https://www.facebook.com/groups/161155740743093/
Great to see everyone on Sunday. Would have loved to stay longer, but I freaked when I saw it starting to snow, since I had to drive back to PA on I-78, and my driving stinks under ideal conditions, let alone with precipitation.

You have a great talent for locating great cameras that end up being great finds. Definitely bring in that recovered Contax when you put it all together.

Kosta,
I did not get the opportunity to tell you that your work inspired me. The pushed Tr-X, high contrast, interesting framing, and compositions made me want to further explore my work using Diafine 4+7 to get 1000 ISO out of Tri-X.
Been thinking of dedicating my F3HP and F3P to night shooting using my 28/1.4 AF-D and Noct-Nikkor.
I know this is totally different than my prints and medium format, but I'll be exploring high ISO with film more due to your influence.

Okay guys my new to me Metz 58AF-1 flash for the Nikon came in the mail today and I
realized that I can not get the D3 out of rear flash mode because my camera does not
have the mode dial on it so now I have a replacement and I'm going in wish me luck!

Thank you for the kind words, Cal. I'm really glad to hear you enjoyed my work. I'll have to work with you on some prints in the near future as your output was really on point!
