Cal, no way you are done...your tagline says it all.
I'll have the LTM Micro-Nikkor for you on Sunday.
Jean-Marc,
Your 50/3.5 Micro-Nikkor in LTM is perhaps one of either 300 or one of 500 ever made. It is suppose to be one of the sharpest lenses ever made, and I wonder if it is a secrete weapon mounted on a Monochrom.
BTW I find that so far counter-intuitively my 21 SEM performs best on the Monochrom without any yellow filters. Also know that it seems I got the Passport warrantee on my 21 SEM, even though I got a price like the one you paid used.
Other interesting gear to compare is a factory rebuilt M3-DS verses a 0.85 MP. I like both VF'ers: one has more magnification; and the other a brighter VF'er over all.
What is most impressive is the build quality of the MP. I had tried to modify and upgrade a Wetzlar M6 to be like a MP, but in the end, side by side the MP kinda crushes the M6 I otherwise still love. Moral of the story here is that no matter what my M6 still remains a M6.
The MP seems to be right behind Christian's legendary M3 that has a remarkably quiet shutter and a film advance that is ultra smooth. Its kinda amazing that Leica could build a modern camera that is almost as smooth as Christian's M3.
I'll also say that my MP only has the slightest amount of brassing even though it was made in 2003. BTW Griptac is the best covering.
GRAND PRIZE: a black vintage Leitz Tilt-All tripod that I found on Broadway by the Leica Gallery with a mono-pod adapter. A leg of the tripod can be unscrewed and be converted by the adaper into a mono-pod. BTW this is a rather robust tripod that can easily support medium format cameras and is a bit overbuilt. The head is rather clever in a very "German" way in that it can easily shoot verticals.
REMINDER: While we encourage the crowd to be rowdy, we allow bribes, and our competition is kinda bare knuckles, I just want to remind everyone "NO BITING" allowed. LOL. Remember he who has the personality to control a mob kinda wins.
