New York NYC September Meet-Up

Great shots Kristian.

Cal, you couldn't convince the firemen to give us the back area? (round table).. just kidding.

It does seem that Puck Fair has gotten busier on Sundays since we started having our monthly Meet-Ups there. Nellie our waitress (that everyone seems to like imensely, probably because she's so cute) once told me that generally Sundays are kinda dead when I first met her and that she welcomes a herd of camera nerds.

When I saw our table conquered by firemen, I was kidding John that perhaps they should open the caged bar downstairs for us and lock us in.

I did see a fireman sneak a cell phone picture of our table full of gear later that afternoon, and the girl that Scott recruited to take our group picture had amazingly long thighs.:)

I just think the word is out about the New York Meet-Up. Puck Fair only opens at 12:00 PM. Andre, John and I were there at 12:30. WTF.

Next Meet-Up I'll be there at 12 noon to keep out the firemen from our turf. We'll force them big guys up the stairs and into the balconey I tell ya.:bang:

There were alot more people than usual, especially firemen, because there was some kind of 5k (9/11 firefighter run of some sorts) in lower manhattan down to world trade... I noticed on my way to Puck fair.. Dont think it will be like that again..

OK, everyone, go tag your gear (it's a photo).

I'm pretty impressed by John's 24 Summilux. This one of Andre came out nice.

And here's the group shot. We're missing a few folks who ducked out (Damaso, Helen), but this is most of us.

Had a great time. Look forward to seeing everyone again soon.

It looks like if I made it in, I'd be slumming it with my M6!

Well, if an M6 is slumming then my plain old chrome M4 is vagabond status ;)

In reality, any and all gear is welcome and appreciated at the meets. People have brought MF cameras, half frames, TLR's, SLR's, and even view cameras. I think there were at least 4 M6's at the meet this past weekend.

Even Calzone brought his monster truck with Rolls Royce wheels....uh, I mean his Nikon F3/motor drive with a Noct....and thats by no means 'slumming it'.

It was nothing like a boys club with fancy toys like some may think. It was a very warm friendly meaning with as much talk about pictures and other things as there was about the gear on hand.

Speaking of which, I should thank you and Damaso for taking the time to sift through the set I put together. I appreciate the feedback and am going to have another go at it this week.

No worries Scott, and thanks for the coding invitation. As I expected I couldn't get there as I was downtown till late tonight.

The set is very nice and will be much stronger with a little culling and rearrangement. Keep us posted

Yup, I brought mine along. Despite the uncomfortable thought of "stacking" them.

As you know we tend to go over the top. We had a Leica M-Body Beauty Pagent where we had two M9's when they first came out. Very quickly the one with the lower serial number was identified as the "Vintage M9." LOL.

I love my M6. BTW its totally pimped out: TA Rapidgrip; TA Rapidwinder; TA Softie. Had it overhauled by Sherry and got a MP finder upgrade. In Scott's gear shot photo look for the M6 that mostly resembles a Nikon F3 HP with the chrome Canon 28mm VF'er.

Take it from a 53 year old man: Old is good. LOL.

Also shooting film is good, especially B&W.
