New York NYC September Meet-Up

Sunday the 25th of September at our usual Puck Fair at 1:00 PM

Cal

GEAR ALERT: Black 28 Cron ASPH. Also will bring a M3 DS that was overhauled by Leica. At the last meet-up it was very stiff, I believe it got a set of new gears, and was as loud as a SLR, but now has settled in.

Man, looks like daninjc is out of luck. :( Sorry, but if you are in NYC again in the future, look us up. We'll make a special meet-up for you. Have a good move and all.

I will definitely let you guys know in advance when I'm back in the city for a meetup!

Sounds good, looks like I can make it!

I'm an oceanographer that likes to stay dry... I love the ocean *from the shore*... I get totally seasick after few hours on a boat - so long cruises are a no-no for me...

Anyway, I'm moving to Montreal, I got a 2 year fellowship to work there. Hopefully there will be a local RFF contingent... but it's gonna be hard to match the NYC crowd!

I'm not an oceanographer, but I did lots of deep sea fishing in the shipping lanes for tuna and shark. For fun one year when I had a bad case of spring fever I went Cod fishing on the Viking Starship out of Montauk in January when there were 25 foot swells. There were a lot of people chumming on that trip, but I wasn't one of them. Still I've gotten sea sick a few times and I wanted to die to stop the suffering. LOL. What an aweful feeling.

Yes, lets make this one a huge meet-up.

All of you that always threaten to come but never make it... this is the one to make.

I believe Kristian/Leicashot is here at the End of the Month.....
so perhaps someone can PM him
and work around those Dates

Best- H

Helen,

The date has been set for the convenience of our guests and is Sunday September 25th at 1:00 PM at Puck Fair.

Hope you can make it.

Also I'll be bringing a Leica strap as a door prize/ givaway. I'll give John the honors of giving it away. Bribe him with a beer. Also anyone bulk load? I have about 2 dozen old retro Ilford 135 cassettes to give away. I'm downsizing so I can move to a 1 bedroom luxury highrise. I'll see what other free stuff I have to give away.

We could make this meet-up a swap-meet. If we become a mob we can always take over the balcony again.

Cal

Hmmm, I'll see what I can find to give away too.

Cal, if you meant me... that means I get to pick the criteria for the win?

Yes. You get to give away a Leica camera strap. BTW its a retro version that has Leica embossed on the rubber pad extra large.

My logic is if I get rid of an extra camera strap I'm less likely to buy another camera. LOL.

Perhaps you'll get bribed with a beer. Remember how Damaso and John Chee got aggressive and competitive fighting over an old issue of Leica Fotographia International at the First Annual Leica M-Body Beaty Pagent. LOL. I was crying because I was laughing so hard.

Also will repeat our proper New York ettiquette: NO BITING. LOL.

Cal

More free stuff for John to give away: Brand new in original package (dusty) Gel-Snap filter holder; Sync socket converter for M2 and M3; a Leitz lens cap for Leica R, operating manual for Nikon F2AS.

For sale: Bay 1 Rolleiflex hood in excellent condition $30.00; Retro M-Grip $30.00. If anyone is interested in a Mamiya 6 with 50/4.0 with extras I'll bring it to the meet-up. Extreamely clean, 50/4.0 was graded by KEH "LN" and the body rated "Excelent" by KEH.

John would rather spend his time drinking beer, oggling gear, and laughing than giving away things all day. You'll have to give a lot of this away yourself Cal... ;)

The user formerly known as nikongod checking in.

I still cant wait to come see you guys.

If anyone is interested, I have a Sigma DP-1 instruction book by Magic Lantern that I could give away.
