New York NYC September Meet-Up

This meetup is shaping up nicely. I'm looking forward to it. And I promise not to evangelizing on the Nokon 35/1.2. Instead, I will be evangelizing on the Nokton 35/1.2 version II. ;)

Already a version II at the NYC Meet-up. Repeat after me: The New York RFF is full of gear whores.

BEWARE OF GAS. LOL.

Fidel, Did you get a M3 yet? LOL.

Hah, indeed. Last time I made the meetup, it resulted in Jeff picking up a Zeiss Ikon.

Also, if anyone has a current Summicron 35 ASPH they don't mind bringing along, I'd like to try it out. Thanks.

I'm downsizing so I can move to a 1 bedroom luxury highrise. I'll see what other free stuff I have to give away.

Cal

Famous last words! I have a huge Beseler copy stand that I may be off-loading. It could become a custom enlarger. I won't bring it in for the gear swap though.
Cal, weren't you setting up a darkroom?

Scott: I have a late model v4 I can bring in if you'd like. Not exactly what you asked for I know, but I can't remember the last time I saw a 35mm ASPH at a meetup, strangely enough.

Yes, still am. That's one of the reasons I'm moving.

Basically the number 7 train rattles my row house everytime it goes by. Too bad because I even have an extra bathroom.

Recently picked up a used 11x14 Saunders easel, but got sniped on a 20x24 Saunders easel at B&H that I really wanted. I have all the German enlarger lenses I need for my Beseler 23C for 135, 6x6, and 6x9.

Anyways tomorrow will be looking at a loft in Spanish Harlem with a 5th Avenue address, LOL, even though we are not ready.

You know me: I'm crazy but decades ago I was a great wet printer (70's).

Cal

LOL, not yet Cal, Im waiting for you to get tired of it and sell it to me...
;)

I'll bring my M3 DS as a tease. It got really smooth and a lot quieter. The Leica overhaul had to settle in, still not as smooth as Cristian's earlier M3 DS.

Wait till you see my evil 28 Cron with mean scalloped hood.

Cal

I'm going to give away a diamond encrusted Holga with a roll of film made of gold. This will be given to the person that makes the best photograph of the lightbulb.

You kinda have a monopoly on the lightbulb shot and already cornered the market. :)

We should lock you downstairs behind the caged bar as punishment for being clever.

Cal

We need to have a night meet-up one of these months so we can use the downstairs jail room.

I think we should have a contest to make an interesting shot of that jailroom bar.

Getting locked in a fully stocked bar is interesting punishment don't you think.

I imagine that Puck Fair is likely a happening place at night and very crowded.

Cal

This meet-up has the potential to be a fall swap meet.

Also out of all the gear heads I would target either Tung or John Chee for a 35 Lux ASPH. I'd be curious to see one "in the wild" and would like to see how it looks with my metal 12466 scalloped hood. It seems like those guys almost have two of everything.

Cal

for those who have been salivating over Cal's Leica-furbished M3, i was just at Adorama today and apparently they just got in another one! although cosmetically it doesn't seem as mint as Cal's, with some scratches on the bottom plate, etc., mechanically it can only be described as brand-new. they wanted $1400 i think, which seems pretty decent.

so someone should hurry on over and grab it so that we'll have a pair of these extra special M's at the next meetup!:D
