I picked up awhile ago a F3, I alway's wanted one since the Nikon House days,
it's a great camera. Yesterday I picked up a Contax RTS camera the leather
is beat but it looks like a great fixer upper maybe I'll use Cal's Prada leather ??

I still think about getting a film Nikon to take advantage of all the lenses I have and I probably will one day. If I get traveling for assignment or research (moving forward on my graduate studies and shopping for mentors in good programs now,) I'll probably buy an F3 or F2 for a backup. Who knows. That is getting the cart way ahead of the horse. As it stands now, I have four 35mm cameras that rarely get used as I am usually using the duo of Mamiya 6 bodies, as Cal pointed out.

I'm in a similar space, but I've been very Leica-centric since I bought my Monochrom 2 years ago. I got a black paint MP because I always wanted one, and I wanted a rig ultimized for use with a 50.

Trading my Noct-Nikkor to Tung was a mistake because that lens was so special, even though the Monochrom opened up High Iso and made the Noct-Nikkor a bit of a shelf queen.

Been tweaking my medium format and film Leicas to use them more. I figured building one three lens kit using single coated glass to shot Acros at 100 for development in Diafine is a fresh approach.

As far as medium format goes I hope to exploit the big negative to shoot Tri-X at 1250 ISO and develope in Diafine 4+7. I can get nice midrage at this high ISO and 1250 is all the speed I need to shoot a F3.5 lens wide open. Glad I still have my Fuji GL690 for the massive negative.

Then there's the Plaubel 69W with the 21mm equiv in 6x9 FOV to do bulb exposures at night on a Tripod. Acros at 100 ISO in Diafine is a match made in heaven where there is no reciprocy failure to deal with. Still have to buy a Leica table top tripod and ball head for portability.

Anyways, again, we are in a similar space. New personal challenges lay ahead.

Still haven't bulk rolled Kodak 5222, but I have a Lloyds bulk loader and this TopCon cassette loader to bulk load 250 exposure cassettes. Only was $27.00 at KEH and is a mechanical marvel. I'm thinking I could easily make a 400 foot to 100 foot respooler; or creat a "Calzone" version of a daylight bulk loader that could handle a 400 foot spool of film.

Only without rangefinder coupling. My F3P already has been optimized for shooting a Noct-Nikkor. Currently there is one available at a good price, but New York sales tax makes the price to rich for me, even though it is an item on EBAY. I found the rendering of the Noct-Nikkor at F1.2 to F4.0 to be remarkable and unique.

Makes more sense to go with a 75 Lux (another lens I wish I still owned), or even a Noctilux, but with the high ISO capabilities of my Monochrom and using my 50 Lux ASPH the real only thing a Noctilux, especially the latest ASPH version, has to offer is F1.0 and F0.95 and the shallower DOF that comes with those stops. It is said that at F1.4 the ASPH Noctilux is as good as the 50 Lux ASPH at F1.4.

The new chrome version of the F0.95 ASPH Noctilux is appealing, but the price is crazy.

Leica "M" yes, but my Monochrom no. Liveview is new on Leica digital M-bodies and is only available on the "M."

There are rumors that Leica is working on a Monochrom version of the "M," but who knows if it will be the same exact camera except only Monochrom. I hope the rumor is true, even if it is stripped down camera. The big deal for me would be the faster buffer on the new "M" and the different sensor. It would not be an upgrade for me but another camera. I still think my Monochrom is a great-great camera.
