If your taking Scala, I'e be extremely interested on the processing. The chemistry that AGFA used has not been reintroduced according to AP. I still have six rolls in the fridge I can't get processed.

I'm seriously considering a Stealth Reporter 650, or a AW 5, both Lowepro. Easy to carry, voluminous enough to carry the Leica gear and film and only a few things more... And then, to go out with them.

As for places to go... My wife wants to go to the Weimar area too.

Now... if I only could lay my hands on a "Germknüdeln" (that's the spelling, I think, of a delicious concoction of almonds, honey and some kind of flour that looks like a big, celestial dumpling. Mmmmmm! 🙂 )

Yes, that would be impressive. The most I ever "pushed" it here was in rural Montana once up to about 170 km/h. Just about there I got concerned about what would happen if a deer or elk stepped into the road! 😱

That is exactly why I drive a British car and not a German one: They are less rigid in their thinking and will supply it without towing bracket! No - not the one that went bankrupt nor the ones owned by Germans. A sad thing about Rolls-Royce, Mini and Bentley - you guys may have lost the war - you have won the peace! 😀 😀. You should see our jokes about Germans and their holes in our beach 😉

Traditionally German tourists dig holes in our beaches to sit in - and exercise territorial rights over them. (for my German friends - I know this is an uncharitable generalisation!!)
The Dutch make quite a number of tasteless jokes about this. In retaliation the Germans make jokes about Dutch camping trailers on their Autobahnen and some other less loveable aspects of my fellow countrymen. But just you wait! We'll kick 'em out of their Weltmeisterschaft soccer coming summer! Btw. two years ago an unfortunate German tourist died on a beach 10 min from where I live because the hole he dug caved in on him. - This is not a joke but a rather sad news- fact. Or was it the car thing? Volkswagen owns Bentley and BMW Mini. Actually the cars are a lot better for it.

Fred, I can get Scala processed here in the US for $10 per roll at a place called Main Photo. If you e-mail them about your film, I'm sure they'll find a way to work with you. It'd be a pity not being able to work with that film. 🙁
