i hope i don't start a war here...
i was out this morning, shooting with both the xp1 and the xe1...and it was just so damned enjoyable.
for me, as an amateur photographer, this is really what it's all about...the experience, not a paycheck or accolades...just for a joy filled morning of feeling good!
sure, i would love to come home with award winning shots, but so far that hasn't happened...but i did come home with a smile on my face.
my kit fits completely into my bag, is easy to extract and put back in...if i want to carry less, there are smaller or no bags...whatever!
bottom line...sure, it can be about the 'gear' but more so, it's about why we do it and how we feel about doing it!
Any of my cameras makes me feel the same way. From big to small, subminiature to 6x6, film and digital. Providing that feel inspires making photographs that I am satisfied with. Whether those photographs are "good" or not is a different matter.

Enjoyment and relaxation is what it's all about for me as well. Completely with you on this Joe.

Joe I couldn't agree with you more. Walking aroung & carrying a kit that feels so right is the ultimate experience, camera wise that is
