Thank you for linking it here, Crystal.
Why the fake lens, though, what are they hiding?
i'm not sure what lens it is, but perhaps it's a lens that's still in development...?

actually, 28 is fine by me. i didn't know they had a 14mm f2 for 4/3's. i thought it was for micro 4/3's?
there is a very good chance that i am confused.
Thats m4:3
Awesome little lens, you'd love it, it even has distance markings on the lens so you can prefocus easily.
14mm on m4:3 is equivalent to 28mm, but only on the diagonal. If you crop your photos back to 3:2 aspect ratio ( as i do because i hate the 4:3 "shape"), it becomes equivalent to 28mm. Which is perfect
There are some very nice lenses in m4:3 if you can find a camera that suits you. This one might do the trick for me, but the vf has to be VERY good (not a fan of evfs)

Don't knock the art filters if you haven't tried them, by the way--they are a lot of fun, and Oly implements them well. It's sort of like deciding to shoot a roll of weird film.
I was just knocking their prominence both on the main dials and in the literature. I think it gives some insight to the product managers' priories in the development and marketing phases.
I confess to running the odd "art" effect in PS once in blue moon, so I have no beef against them per se.

I loved my PEN E-P2 and the E-P3 even more for it's faster AF. The E-M5 is another evolutionary step in the right direction for me simply because it has the built in EVF. I long ago stopped looking for the 'perfect' body - it's a journey with no ending. What's more important is that Olympus have made another decent body with improvements over it's predecessors - which allows me to stay with the system and it's wonderful primes.
The body is important, but having the lenses to augment it is vital.

hmm, the 28mm equivalent and a vc finder in that shoe might cover all the bases?
not that i have a hidden message but the sensor size is really not a big consideration for me unless i have a specific output size in mind. even then i have had shows shot entirely on digital point and shoots, a generation or two old, hang in galleries at 10" on the longest axis, with NOBODY even knowing or caring what they came from.
the cameras and technology today is just open doors in this guys noggin

well they are certainly building cameras with a more traditional aesthetic (thank god).

I rather doubt that anything like that will be built. That image is a rendered third party impression, and does not match any of the bits of the real thing that have been revealed so far.

The (sham) prism is much bigger/higher than on the teaser advertisements by Olympus. And if the photograph with a blurred sample in a man's hands are real (which is overall more likely than the reality of renderings that first appeared on a fan page), the rendered camera body is much too big (or the lens diameter too small) for that lens to be a MFT lens.

I'm not too optimistic, the aesthetic will be there, but the overall thing looks small and fiddly and I'm skeptical about the ergonomics. Reminds me of this:

I guess we will know on the 8th.

Nar I think you're overanalyzing. The prism looks about the same size between the advert and the leaked picture. 43rumors always has solid sources - every single m4/3 camera thats pretty much ever been announced has been previewed on that blog successfully beforehand.

Hi Earl!
I think that is the system. It is just missing the good lenses, the ones made by Panasonic.

Haha!
Actually, it's the 12/2 and 45/1.8 that are tempting me back. But it is true that Pana has ruled the roost until now. I can't believe it has taken oly this long to produce a professional body.
