Oh why oh why.... did I buy another Nikon S2?
Sure, it was cheap, and was just CLA'ed.
But I just came off a binge of selling some of my collection.
It feels like coming off a diet and then having a feast to celebrate.

Shooter of Film...
As long as you don't have this "Feast" everyday your "Diet" will still be okay...
Besides it was cheap and just CLA'd...
I'm not really helping am I...???

I was out with one of my new-to-me S2's yesterday - warm enough to thaw out the shutter finger - and an S2 feels so good. Nestles in the hand, focuses, the soft plut when the shutter trips. And soooo easy to load. New glass, old glass, it's all good glass. Congratulations.- alfredian

Just sell it on, making a little profit.

6151xxx and no lens.
Yeah, to Frank, I think it was the greedy profiteer side that pushed the "Buy it Now" button. I hope to shoot it for a season, and sail it on to a new owner.

I too have just did the same, after trimming down my collection I went and bid on a fully working (including light meter), Leitz CL, bagged it for £200, I feel so guilty,

I can totally relate. My self imposed exile from the classifieds was a spectacular failure. Instead of trimming down my collection I now own 4 50mm lenses.

That's not too unreasonable.

I sympathize. I've been unsuccessfully trying to reduce the number of cameras here for several years. I have gotten rid of some of the really underused stuff, but constantly stumble onto more. I am proud to have managed to turn down a couple free Minoltas lately.
But I couldn't resist a somewhat reasonable M5 outfit last week. And now you've got me thinking about calling in the S2 w/1.4 I've had out to a friend for about 9 months for a possible trade.

Isn't this such a great forum or what? I feel so right at home here among the GAS afflicted...but then the wife does say I always seem to have GAS.

I've noticed all the nice things you've been selling and hereby grant you an indulgence for the sin of just one little purchase.
My S2 just came back from DAG after an extended visit:

He couldn't get the focus just right with 50 & 85 Nikkors, so he didn't charge me. I'd asked him to collimate the lenses for close focus at f1.4 & f2, respectively. I thought that was the way the old Nikkors were originally calibrated?
We're both going to enjoy these!
