I had both lenses for some time and for the life of me I could never tell the difference between them. I finally sold the IV (pre-asph.) because I could easily get my money back out of it. IMHO, it comes down to price.

I also had this lens for some time and ended up selling it because I had quit using my 35mm Asph. Summilux (which I am also very fond of). The Nokton isn't as sharp as the Leica alternatives, but the OOF renditions are very nice and it is sharp enough. IMHO, if you are using a 35mm Nokton f/1.2, then you shouldn't need another 35mm lens for your M system.
