Olympus OM: Preferred lenses

Good to hear someone finally mention the 35 f2. My personal all around favorite lens. Period. For any system. This may change though, Currently own 7 different OM lenses but my shop down the street just bought 2 estates of Olympus collectors and received every lens in the OM catalog at least once over and when I was there last he was just opening a crate of 50+ om-1's and pen-fs ion the original shrink wrap.......

dibs.....;o)

So I forgot about this thread, so here is an update...

I ended up with an Olympus OM-1 (black, with new foam) and the 28mm f/2.8 lens from KEH.
However, KEH does not check serial #s so I still have yet to procure the late serial number (above 1,100,000) 50mm f/1.4 lens. Does anyone know where I can find one?

-S.

I saw one on ebay about a week and a half ago for 140.

I would have bought it if it weren't for other expenditures and now a change of direction. Right now I'd like to downsize my OM gear but apparently that's harder than I thought.

Step 1: come to terms with addiction.

Hello, my name is Sam and I am an addict.

I got my 50/1.4 at KEH about three years ago. I called and asked if they had one with a serial number >1,100,000. They did, so I bought it. They will check serial numbers if you call them. :)

I did just this and they refused to check serial numbers.

I have an eBay alert for the 35/2. Will pull the trigger at some point. I love the 35/2.8, but sometimes just need another stop.

I own 35/2.8 100/2.8 50/1.8 (a couple of copies of this lens)

The 35 and 100 were both bought new around 1999 or 2000 as was one of the 50s. The 50 is spectacularly good, but the difference really only matters if the thing is bolted to a tripod, and if I do that I tend to use a bigger piece of film.

I once took the 100/2.8 and a single OM-1n body on a trip to Japan. That combo worked very well for me.
