Nope, Amazon shows out of stock on both colors of body-only, and the kit lens combinations.
I know that. What I'm saying is that different kits could have different delivery dates.

1/2 dozen for the entire USA this month???? Makes no sense.

Gotta agree. I mean, why bother sending them at all then? That said, Amazon (selling for J&R in NYC) had them yesterday for a little while and no others stores have/had them, so...

The waiting list is quite long, although I dont seem to have any trouble locating one down here.. For the black lne that is..
Ok, does anyone know when Olympus will be sending body only packages to the USA?

The best camera is one that still works!
I have the camera and now I want the battery grip because the thing is tiny ... it looks small next to an OM-1 and that's saying something!
The only place I've seen the grip is on eBay and the rougues are asking for $400.00. :bang:

Keith, not sure if it pays out with shipping, etc., but PopFlash.com has them in stock for $297 (US$). This is where I picked up mine.I have the camera and now I want the battery grip because the thing is tiny ... it looks small next to an OM-1 and that's saying something!

I got a body only package from Arlington Camera today. I was fifth in line for a 12-50 kit (which wasn't really interesting to me) but I switched to a body yesterday because I'd be first in line there - then got the call today.
They were out of Panny 14/20/25 lenses, so I got a 45/1.8. Pretty amazing combo thus far. I know I want a 25/1.4 but I can't decide if I want to drop the extra scratch on an Olympus 12/2 vs the 14/2.5.

Or they are all in Europe, where there are plenty of body only packages in both colours. The 12-50 kits can be a bit harder to find from time to time.Looks like Olympus is going to ship the body only packages... NEVER!!!!

Finally some good news! Service Photo in Balto., MD has a few EM-5 black body kits in stock. Priced at $1099 with the 14-42 ver. II. Beautiful setup! Contact Burke@servicephoto.com for more info. I bought my D800 from them, great brick and mortar store that caters to the advanced shooter and pros with comptetative pricing against the NY stores.
Yes, Precision is shipping my black E-M5 today.

So you're getting an OMD to go with your Xpro and X100!
That means you have all the current desirable toys ... aside from the Monochrom of course!
As a matter of interest where does the OMD fit in for you John and why did you choose to add it to what you already have?

I just sold my M9 and lenses a few weeks ago, so I had some extra cash. I added the X2 and OMD to my cameras. I like having options, even duplicative ones. I guess I feel the same way as the quote on Tokyo Camera Style by William Eggleston:
"I don’t think about what camera I should use that much. I just pick up the one that looks nicest on the day."
-- William Eggleston
I have no desires left right now.

Super quick focus (my other cameras do not have this), 40mm lens option, flip-up LCD with touch screen focusing / shutter (for TLR style shooting), etc. I have to stress that I use everything I own and if I don't, I sell it. Anyone here that knows me personally knows I use all of this stuff.

I understand the good focusing speed is not a feature of the Panasonic 20mm, though. Which is bad news at least to me, since the lens seems otherwise very interesting. I definitely need a fast normal lens for the OM-D myself, and the Panasonic 20mm and 25mm are the obvious contenders. The 25mm is twice the size and 50% more money.Super quick focus (my other cameras do not have this), 40mm lens option

Compared to other m4/3 lenses perhaps, but not compared to my other cameras... at least I'm led to believe. I'll be able to confirm soon. If not, I'll get another lens.
