The OM-3 is definitely a keeper, I've been throug many (many) cameras, and this is probably about the very last I'd sell just after I sold my F2 and S2 nikons.., I see those prices raising again in mid-term.
Keith you mentionned in an earlier post that you're thinking about the Leitax possibility to mount on your D700, I've been there, If you want a digitalback for them get a used 5d (mkI) for 700-800$ they pop up from time to time, I'd leave those OM-s alone, also if you want to adapt to other systems in the future m4/3 nex or whatever will evolve (maybe a fullframe nex??...) OM has cheaply available adapters which make those om lenses so valuable imo) also dismounting and mounting can be a pain.
When I owned 3 (yes three) 40/2 lenses a while back I was thinking of converting one to nikon mount, but then I sold 2 off to of them to fellow rff members.
Keith for the lenses if you're looking for the premium OM stuff to upset you're leica friends... (and given that you have the stellar 50/1.2 and 28/2 already look for the following.)
100/2
90/2 macro
50/2 macro
35-80 2.8 zoom (if you like zooms, it doesn't get any better than this one...)
24/2 (I'm selling one off in the classifieds at the moment..)
21/2
50 1.4 late
35/2 late I compare my late 35/2 om to the Leica M-Summicron 35 ASPH i owned a while back.. but I'll have to keep the results secret, to not upset anyone here... 🙂
16 3.5 (unique for the size, with 3 built in filters...)
18 3.5 (stellar but rare)
they are all rather expensive, but If you compare what zeiss leica is billing, they're bargains.
of course the 2.8 lenses are equally good and cost much less I've found the 24/2.8 and 35/2.8 to be fantastic so is the 21/3.5, and 28/3.5
