These two cameras seem very close in size. Does anyone know if an OM1 will fit a Leica M3 or other M case?

I think Keith has fit both the OM-1 and OM-3 in a Luigi case, but cannot seem to locate the post with the picture and details.

I did see that but Luigi cases are too expensive for my taste. I'm looking for a brown or tan case and thought an M case might do it - or even a Fed 4? I've got the very dark brown OM case but I'd like something lighter in colour and a bit more robust.

Size-wise Leica cases will fit. But the strap lugs are in the wrong position.
What does fit are the original Bessa R cases.
Also, Zhou makes nice OM cases in different colors if you are interested. That's what I use:

Being curious, I just tried to shoehorn an OM into a Zhou M halfcase.
No go ... and far enough off that it didn't seem worth noting the differences.
I would just buy the Zhou OM case -the question would be getting your chosen color.

The Leica M cases have a mounting screw at the right end of the camera whereas the Olympus tripod mount is coaxial with the lens
