One camera / three lenses / 35mm film - Pick your system

M7 (0.58, very useful as wear glasses)
21/3.4 Super Angulon (old)
35/1.4 Summilux (old)
90/2.8 Tele-Elmarit (old fat version)

Along with an M4P its my usual working film kit, does the job.

Really happy with my current EDC set-up:
Nikon F2 Photomic
35mm f/2
50mm f/1.4
85mm f/1.8

Keeping with the OP's question, if I had the funds the 35mm would be an f/1.4 and the 50mm would be a Noct-Nikkor 58mm f/1.2.

Olympus OM2sp
Zuiko 28/2.8
Zuiko 50/1.8
Vivitar Series 1 70-210/3.5 If I remember right it is the Kiron version (I think that's mine) that is the good one.

[Taking a cue from oftheherd's cheat]
Since the budget is unlimited, then an auto winder, TTL flash with tilt and swivel head. A suite of filters, extension rings and auto bellows. And ticket to fly someplace I'd love to photograph. 😉

Obtaining the best gear isn't going to help me much so I'd be content with what I have at the moment.
Canon AE1P that my wife gave me.
Canon 50/1.4 SSC
Canon 28/2.8
Tokina Special 135/2.8

Lots of B&W film & developer.

film body: zeiss ikon ZM

lenses:
21mm f3.5 ricoh gr lens
35mm summilux pre-asph
50mm f1.5 CZ

i don't have much GAS cause these are lenses and camera body I own (except for the CZ in which I have a shimmed jupiter 3 instead)

Slr system:
Canon AE-1 (lets assume it doesnt break)
FDn 50mm 1.4
FDn 35mm 2.8
FDn 28mm 2.8

RF:
Leica M4/M2
50mm f2 collapsible summicron
any leica 35mm summicron
any leica 28mm 2.8

Leica M7 (.58) with 21/35/75 (Al A Cart) Silver Chrome
Leica 21mm f/3.4
Leica 35mm f/1.4 ASPH
Leica 75mm f/2 APO

Whoa - that's my dream kit! Only I would make it an MP 0.58x...

PS: Not that I'm unhappy with my Zeiss Ikon and Zeiss/Voigtländer lenses... but you postulated one kit for the rest of my life. And I would place more trust in long-term serviceability with Leica than with Zeiss at the moment...

SLR:

Nikon F2 w/ DP-1 - Nikkor 28/2, Nikkr-H 50/2 and Nikkor 105/2.5 (only need to get that 28 and I am set for life, hah)

RF:

Leica M2 with either a Summilux 35 1.4 or a Color Skopar 35/2.5 - that's enough of a challenge to last me a lifetime! 🙂

Film:

Ilford HP5+ - I just like it - simple as that.

F100 w/MB15
Nikkor AFD 24mm f/2.8
Nikkor AFD 35mm f/2.0
Nikkor AFED 80-200 f/2.8 (two-touch)

This kit served me well for many years as a PJ until it was stolen while travelling (after leaving the ill-fated PJ profession).

Meet the team of my current project:
M6 TTL 0.85
21 Super Elmar (Zeiss view finder)
35 Lux ASPH non-FLE
50 C-Sonnar

John

I love reading these lists and contemplating all the various sorts of gourmet tastes--snobbery, sobriety, anti-snob snobbery, extravagance, convenience, etc.--expressed by each one.

My 3-lens kit, all sharing 46mm filter size:

Zeiss ZI
Leica Elmar M 24/3.8
ZM C Sonnar 50/1.5
Contax G Sonnar 90/2.8 modified to M mount

A tiny Rollei Sonnar 40/2.8 invariably makes it into the bag, too, either by leaving the 90 at home, or making it a 4 lens kit.
