Xmm, appears to be all over unrealistic pricing. Can't imagine who will pay such amount (even if would be over 2k$) for, even collectable, regular production M2.
Do they count on some rich ingenuous collectors ?
I would think for $4,700 USD (basically the price of a new M8) the seller would throw in a free round trip to OZ for the buyer to come and pick it up in person, especially if the photos cannot convey the depth and breath of the finish...
I like the "no reserve", start at 5.5K, BIN at 5.6K. I can see he knows what he wants. I think Noel's right about the first one, looks like a refinish from here too. I know a refinish can knock £1000 or so off the price of a old Fender or Gibson guitar, so I'd assume the same for a black paint Leica. Do I have this right?
Hi... I like chrome cameras, and please don't jump on me. They feel right and real to me... not all chrome, but part chrome and vulcanite. And, I love my chrome, 1965 M2... which shows normal signs of 35 years worth of use [with me].
Is $5,500- well spent on a special edition black M2? Perhaps, if one is a collector. I'd rather go for an M8, black ;-) and a good 50mm. See Link:
